IN WINE, TRUTH

Immerse yourself in the inspiring landscape of a vineyard
and let the creative juices flow!

Spend a glorious week immersed in the spectacular Tuscan countryside. Escape to a hidden vineyard in the heart of Tuscany to write and share stories, inspired by the exquisite food and wine of the region. Take inspiration from the vistas, walk through the vineyards, read, write, relax.

After breakfast at your comfortable, cozy winery, the day begins with a three-hour workshop devoted to either non-fiction or fiction—perfect for writers working on short stories, novels, memoirs, travel, or true-crime. Poets, translators and writers of all types are welcome at the Writing Retreat where mornings are free for reading and writing.

At lunch, a professional sommelier will guide you through wines and pairings. Discuss books, writing and the wine with fellow participants.

Afternoons are dedicated to free time: write, read, exercise – the decision is yours. Dinners feature exquisite traditional cuisine revisited by the chef and tasty wine pairings. Convivial conversation with fellow participants make these evenings special. Two after-dinner star-filled evenings are dedicated to readings to allow participants to hear excerpts from their companions’ work.

The host estate for In Vino Veritas is Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s winery in Trequanda; the family has been making wine in this Tuscan paradise for five centuries. This is the only winery in Italy entirely owned and operated by women. Superbly comfortable private bedrooms in rustic buildings situated in the middle of the vineyards will become home for the week. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner feature Tuscan specialties, like the famed Chianina steak from the nearby Val di Chiana, and produce from local farms in the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or the gardens of the Cinelli Colombini estate itself – a real treat for vegetarians!

Not to mention Donatella’s wines – from her popular DOC Orcia blend Cenerentola to her Brunello di Montalcino – which have consistently received superior ratings from the Wine Spectator and Robert Parker.

Non-participating guests of writing participants are welcome.
